Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. “ Dalai Lama
Every day we wake up, we should realise that ahead we have a new beginning, a new life, a new day and it doesn’t really matter what happened the day before, the past is just past and, even if it may still influence the present, it is still past! With this, we want to say that we have to make the best of our life every day and we believe that the best way to do this, is helping others!
Our visitors, may not realize it, but when they come to Ran-Tong, not only are helping Thai elephants to keep a safe and healthy life, but also the local people living nearby us!
Karen and Padaung tribes mostly form the villages around our camp and rotational farming has been part of their culture for several hundred years.
As our culture, we believe that if we do something good, something good will come to us…at Ran-Tong not only we incentive and support local farmers who grow and help us grow food for our elephants, but also we donate part of the profit to the communities around, supporting them with their daily life.
Building schools and houses, providing transportation, including activities such as English classes for local kids in our volunteer projects and so on… are just some of the positive aspects that our visitors are contributing at.
Thanks to all of you!
